As it turns out, the cards were stacked against Bo Eaton in the Mississippi House of Representatives

That was then.

As quoted in Rep. Bo Eaton draws long straw, keeps House seat for now. (Jackson Clarion-Ledger, 11/21/2015)
The straws may have gone Eaton's way, but the cards may be stacked against him in the House challenge of the election.

 This is now.

And that's what it's all about -- with a big, steaming side of bullshit! The move gives Republicans a three-fifths supermajority of 74 in the 122-member chamber. But House leaders said the vote wasn't based on partisan politics, but about problems with the election, which resulted in a tie that was broken by drawing straws in November.
